Delicious Sacrifice - Chapter 4
Delicious Sacrifice - Chapter 4
When she opened her eyes again, it was because she was cold and hungry.
As she opened my eyes, she thought at the same time, Ah, I’m still alive. Was hell before her eyes?
“…… Huh?”
Surprisingly, what she saw before her eyes was not hell where monsters live, but the inside of a splendid and antique building.
Miela jumped up. The blanket that had been covering her body blew away in the wind. Although she expected it, she was naked.
The blanket that she was covered with was half covered in dust, but underneath the dust was silk with intricate embroidery. Even with her untrained eyes, it was an extremely expensive item.
‘Was it a tribute?’
It could be. Miela wasn’t thrown out alone, but rather had various items, including fabrics and accessories.
However, the fact that a monster who ate people was using the tribute was surprising. Moreover, it didn’t live in a nest or a cave, but in a mansion.
If you think about it, it didn’t wear clothes and acted like an animal, but it spoke like a human. Looking at this, it wasn’t strange at all.
‘I don’t know.’
Even if you thought about it, if you don’t know, you just don’t know. Miela quickly gave up. Since she was hungry, her first priority was to find something to eat.
Miela wrapped the blanket around her body and got out of bed. The moment she grabbed the handle to open the door, the door swung open.
“Hic!”
The one who opened the door was the monster. There was blood all over the corner of its mouth, and in its hand was a rabbit dripping with blood. It was still naked.
Miela froze in front of the overwhelming sight. All she could do was move her eyes.
The monster suddenly thrust the rabbit out.
“Eat it.”
“Huh? You want me to eat this?”
“Eat it and regain your energy.”
“… Ah…… Yes.”
Miela politely accepted the rabbit that was thrust at her. However, she couldn’t chew and swallow the rabbit dripping with blood.
“Why aren’t you eating it?”
“I’m human……. So I have to cook it.”
The monster furrowed its eyebrows in annoyance.
“I’ll eat it! I’ll eat it!”
Miela was startled by the monster’s change of expression and bit the rabbit’s hind leg. She could smell the musty smell of fur.
“Cook it then.”
“Eat … Thank you. But is there a place to light a fire?”
“Just do it anywhere.”
But you can’t cook in the room you were sleeping in. Common sense was extraordinary. Miela armed herself with kindness based on her survival instinct and asked kindly.
“Um…… Then can I go around looking for a place to light a fire?”
“Okay.”
The monster surprisingly easily allowed it.
Miela wrapped herself in the blanket and went out the door hesitantly. The monster’s eyes followed her. It was not easy to move when it watched her so blatantly. Furthermore, she was wearing a large, heavy blanket.
She walked down the long hallway, dragging the blanket along.
The monster’s mansion, or castle, was so huge that it seemed impossible to see everything on foot. On both sides of the hallway were various doors, including closed doors, broken doors, and missing doors.
She confirmed that the monster wasn’t going to eat her right away. She gradually relaxed, and her curiosity grew.
It was thanks to the wits that had accumulated from wandering around this neighborhood and that neighborhood. The mother and daughter, who were foreigners without any support, were like symbols of rejection and suspicion. She had to endure by being cautious until she found a corner that would accept her. Every day was a series of tensions, but eventually her nerves wore out.
She naturally became a moderately tense and moderately cautious person. That was no different from the monster’s castle.
Miela peered into a room through the half-broken door without trying to irritate the monster’s nerves. She thought it would be empty because it was a ruin covered in dust and cobwebs, but there were surprisingly many things.
Miela, who found a mountain of clothes piled up in the broken room, glanced at the monster that was following her.
“Hey…….”
Could she say to the monster “Hey”? Was this the line she could step on, or not?
“What?”
The monster didn’t really care. It was a line that could be crossed.
Then let’s go a little further.
“Can I just pick up one of those clothes and wear it?”
“Why would you wear that?”
“Huh? Well…….”
She was speechless when asked the reason for something so obvious. Miela had never asked herself such a high-level question since she was born.
Clothes were something you wear because you had to wear them. You couldn’t show your naked body to others. Then, since monsters wasn’t a person, could she show her body?
But she didn’t want to think about walking around the castle naked.
“Uh…… Because it’s cold?”
“Okay.”
The monster answered blandly, as if it wasn’t particularly curious.
With permission, Miela went into the room and searched through the pile of clothes.
“Uh, wow…….”
It looked like just a pile of rags, but when she actually looked through them, she was amazed. They were dazzling clothes that Miela had never seen in her life. Some were just fabrics and others were finished clothes.
Some of them were old, hundreds of years old, but some of them sparkled like new when she just dusted them off.
She didn’t know much about clothes, but she was able to guess where they came from after looking through them.
Offerings of objects along with human sacrifices. How long had they been repeatedly offered up for, given the amount of dust they were collecting? The monster looked like a young man in his twenties, but how long had it actually lived?
She realized once again of the reality that she had been offered up to the monster.
Miela chose clothing that she could wear by herself. She couldn’t find any underwear, so she just wore a dress. Compared to the rag-like clothes she usually wore, it was like a dress for a princess. She looked as pretty as a princess even without proper attire.
Miela hummed involuntarily as she looked at herself in the dusty mirror. When in her life would she ever wear a dress like this?
Then her eyes met with the monster in the mirror. The monster, still wearing nothing.
“Uh……. Aren’t you cold?”
“I’m not cold.”
The best excuse to dress him up was the cold. He must not feel the cold because he was a monster.
“If you run around the forest and get scratched or something, it will hurt.”
“It doesn’t hurt.”
“…… Oh, right. But how about trying something on?”
“Why?”
“Just…… I think it will look good on you?”
“Okay.”
How could it be so easy?!
The monster, who seemed to do whatever it wanted, was surprisingly easy to talk to.
“Oh, then this!”
Even though she had no discerning eye for clothes, the monster obediently submitted to whatever was put on him. Thanks to this, dressing the monster up was easy.
“Wow…….”
You look handsome even if you walk around like a beast, so it is natural that you look cool if you wear nice clothes.
Miela admired the look she had created and admired the monster. The limbs were a little short and the chest was tight, but it looked quite good. The white shirt, navy pants, and blue jacket went well with him like a nobleman in a painting.
She thought it would look ridiculous if he was dressed up since he acted like an animal, but it wasn’t at all. The moment she put on the clothes, the atmosphere changed completely, and even his disheveled hair transformed into a wild look.
Her heart pounded as if the monster was releasing pheromones.
“Uncomfortable.”
The monster frowned and untied the scarf around his neck. It had been tied with great care, but Miela didn’t stop him. It suited his half-disheveled appearance better.
“Are you going to light the fire here?”
“What? No!”
The monster was looking at the clothes as if they were a pile of firewood.
Miela quickly shook her head and left the room. The monster’s gaze quickly dropped from the clothes.
The other rooms she saw as she passed by contained all sorts of things. There was a room filled with jewels, and there was also one filled with food and animal skins. In short, this was the monster’s lair filled with treasures.
The kitchen with the stove was at the end of the rooms, and she had to go down several stairs to find it.
The entrance was sealed with spiderwebs and sand, as if the monster had never entered the place.
Suddenly, she doubted whether it was right to cook with a fire in a place like this, but it was even more wrong to cook using clothes to start a fire.
Miela first looked for dishes and cooking utensils that she could salvage. There was a well in the corner of the kitchen. Fortunately, the water was drinkable.
There was also a drain, so she scooped up water, washed the things she had salvaged, and inspected the stove. There was also flint that could be used.
“Oh, everything that is needed is here.”
Miela cheered and gathered the straw that had been piled up and struck the flint. Perhaps because it had been too long and dusty, the sparks did not fly well.
“Hmm.”
She naturally frowned as she tried a few more times. The flint was heavy because it was stone. Her arms hurt when she swung it.
“Give it to me.”
The monster watching from the side suddenly held out his hand.
“Oh, do you know how to do it?”
“I don’t know. Why don’t I just do it like you did?”
“That’s true…….”
It might be difficult because you won’t get the feel of it since you’ve never tried.
Miela’s worries were unfounded. The monster easily struck the rocks a few times and lit the straw.
Miela blew on the sparks, not letting them go, and lit the fire. The fire grew in an instant, filling the stove.
“So this is how you make fire.”
“Huh? Is this your first time making a fire?”
“I’ve seen fires caused by lightning, but this is the first time I’ve seen this.”
“…… Then what about normal times?”
“……?”
The monster looked at Miela as if asking her a question. Miela was dumbfounded.
“Don’t you use fires?”
“Why do you use it?”
“…….”
She was speechless. There was no reason to need fire when animals ate raw meat, and they did not need clothes.
Even though he was dressed up like a human, the monster was a monster. Miela confirmed her situation once again.
Miela spoke as she trimmed the rabbit and placed it on the kitchen utensil. It was a habit she had when she was helping with housework in other houses. Even if her hands were busy, her mouth had to be moving.
“You seem so human, I thought you lived just like humans.”
“I’m not human.”
“But you speak the human language so well. Did you live with humans?”
“No.”
“Then how did you learn to speak?”
“I heard it.”
“Where?”
“Where you live.”
The Monster Forest was quite far from the village. People never came near this forest except to make sacrifices.
“Ah……. That’s ridiculous.”
It seemed that the monster knew how to joke around. Miela snickered and sprinkled the seasoning she found in the corner on the rabbit meat that was cooking golden brown.
“The village is really far from here? You can still hear it?”
“Yeah.”
The monster wasn’t joking.
“…… Really? Even now?”
“Yeah, I can hear a man’s voice. Miela, that bitch, if she was going to get eaten anyway, there’s no way to tell if she’s a virgin or not, so I should’ve had her at least once.”
“…… What?”
Miela asked blankly.
She didn’t know what to be surprised about. It was surprising that the monster could actually hear the voices of the villagers, but the content of the conversation from the village was also shocking.
“If you can hear the sounds coming from the village, can you speak to the village from here?”
“I can’t do that.”
“Damn.”
Miela took out her anger on an innocent tree branch. She couldn’t believe that she had been close to those guys and had even been friendly with the villagers. If she had caught them, she wanted to swear at them and tear their balls out.
Miela was already in the monster forest, and since she was a sacrifice, there was no chance of her returning to the village on her own. She had a higher chance of being carried away by the monster’s stomach.
Thinking that she was going to die anyway, she gave up quickly.
Instead of venting her anger at someone she couldn’t take revenge on, Miela changed her thoughts to an interesting topic.
