Peeking into the Future - Chapter 3

Peeking into the Future - Chapter 3

"Sigh…….”

Ethan sighed heavily as he sat in his office, which had now become his own. His family was far from martial arts. As the only heir, he also took on his father's work little by little and learned the work of the household, but the work that was growing like a mountain was difficult to solve easily.

From the various businesses that play an important role in the family, to matters related to the imperial family that require careful consideration, to the various social gatherings to consolidate a position in the center……. Ethan was tired of all this. Wouldn't it be great if he could cut and wield it as simply as a sword? His whole body was itching from his suffocating heart.

But what confused him more than his overflowing work was his changed relationship with Rachel. Ethan wrote Rachel's name on a blank piece of paper. Rachel Deborah. No, she was now his wife, the woman she would have been now is Rachel Jackal.

How did he ever get married to her, who was like family? Ethan wrote next to it, Marriage by Arrangement, a possibility that led to his marriage to Rachel. Maybe they were so closely intertwined and since they been together for a long time, they weren’t able to find more a like-minded mate than each other. Fortunately, they gave birth to a child who looked like each other, and they seemed to be living happily...….

'This is real.'

Aside from the personal affection issue, Rachel was a decent woman to have as hostess considering the political and family interests. Rachel had become his wife. It was still embarrassing, but it was a possible story. As he crumpled the scribbled paper with a pen to and from, he recalled the magic potion that started it all.

'I have to go back soon.'

Ethan thought deeply with a very serious face. He wanted to go back and ask Rachel a lot. What he was most curious about was whether this was really his future. It wasn't that he didn't want to marry her. As he thought earlier, Rachel was noble as a hostess.

'But that's not the problem.'

There were plenty of young girls to take her place. And the same was true of Rachel's husband on his behalf. What confused him most was the fact that his relationship with the woman he believed to have been his lifelong friend had changed.

'I've never felt that Rachel was the opposite sex.'

He swept his face with a complicated feeling. What should be considered fortunate was that Rachel's products were not very effective. Most of the time was medicine, so waiting silently would solve it, but this was a medicine that goes against time. It was true that something this unprecedented brought some anxiety. What if he lives in the future like this forever? Such absurd assumptions did not let go of his troubled mind.

Unfortunately, he knew nothing about potions. Ethan pondered how to safely return to reality, but couldn't come up with a good solution.

"It feels like I'm grabbing a straw...… Should I talk to Rachel separately."

In the end, the conclusion was to talk closely with her, who held the key.

Ethan had a bit of work in front of him, but he had no doubt that he would get back to reality soon, so he boldly decided to put it off. When his real self of the future comes back, he will have a hard time looking at the documents all day, but he decided not to think that far.
