Delicious Sacrifice - Chapter 15
Delicious Sacrifice - Chapter 15
It was the first time she was alone in a castle without the monster.
For some reason, the castle felt even more eerie. Miela hugged her body with both arms. She was shivering even though she wasn’t cold. Probably because of the tension.
She used to tremble in fear of being eaten by a monster, but now she trembled because there was no monster. Change was something that seeped in quickly and silently.
“Miela. Can I talk to you for a little bit?”
“Jack?! No, if Serian knows……”
The monster retreated infinitely to Miela, but not to other beings.
Jack carefully opened the door and came in, just as anxious Miela was.
“It’s really important. I’ll tell you quickly.”
“What, what’s it about?”
Jack asked, lowering his voice as much as possible.
“Miela. I’ve been watching you all this time, and I’m asking just in case.”
Jack looked around and came closer. Miela flinched.
“Are you pregnant?”
“What?”
Miela burst into laughter at the sudden, absurd question. Why did you ask so nervously?
“I ate so well that you even thought that? Hahaha. How embarrassing.”
“That includes that too……. Haven’t you ever thought about this? You only eat and sleep every day, and when I first came here, you would throw up right away if the food smelled even a little strange. Now, you’re gaining weight too.”
“That’s because my health wasn’t good back then…….”
“And you, you’re with the monster all day and night……, that.”
Jack blushed and couldn’t finish his sentence.
Whether Jack was there or not, whether he brought food or not, the monster didn’t care and kept tangling with her. In fact, there were times when he would persistently run at her just to show off more. It was impossible to hide it from the beginning.
It wasn’t that he hid it, but it was a topic that was awkward to talk about openly. Miela also blushed and avoided eye contact.
“Th-Think about it carefully. It was the same when my older sister came home pregnant. I saw her and that’s why.”
A storm rose in her head.
Pregnancy?
Miela stuttered through her mind and retraced the past in her head. After hearing Jack’s words, all the scattered clues in her head came together, as if the tangled threads were all falling into place at once.
The fact that she had been craving somethings to eat, the sleep that poured down, her emotional state that had been uneven for no reason. Even her body that was chubby. She thought about each of them had a separate reason, but they all fit the symptoms of pregnancy perfectly.
It was the same as the story her mother had told her while lying in bed the night she had asked how babies were made. These were the symptoms that she had and told her would happen when a baby was born.
Pregnancy?
She had never thought about it before. Even after mingling with monsters so many times. She was human and Serian was a monster, so she had never thought she could get pregnant. Even though he looked exactly like a human.
“Pregnancy. Me……?”
“No? You didn’t feel anything?”
“…… I never thought about it.”
Her heart pounded.
First of all, it was clear that the monster was the father, so she had to say something. Serian had no intention of eating her anymore. If she were to guess a little further, he had affection for her. So he would definitely like the child she made.
What would be his first words? Thank you? You’re pretty? You’re lovely?
“Shouldn’t you run away?”
Jack’s question stopped Miela’s imagination, which was flowing in the direction of pretty things.
“Run away? Why?”
“Think about it. You were kept alive until now to fatten you up. But how delicious would a newborn be? He could have kept you alive until now for that.”
“…… What?”
Miela’s face twisted into a fierce grimace.
There was such a thing as human intuition. She had realized over the past few months that even the monster has similar emotions as her. In fact, the emotions of the monster were more honest and straightforward than those of the villagers.
That monster deliberately kept her alive to eat the baby’s flesh, and even made her pregnant and would wait for ten months? He even brought Jack, a villager, to cook for her because she couldn’t resist whining about wanting to eat human food, and took a risk and made him cook for her?
On top of that, how could she drive the monster, who was now gone to a faraway place to get ingredients for her, like that? She was furious.
“Why do you think like that?”
Miela asked harshly.
The strange twisting of the monster's pure kindness was unpleasant. She was even angrier at Jack, who she thought was kind to her and a good person.
“Serian doesn’t really like eating people. I’ve never seen him eat a person while I was with him. He also takes great care of me, so I’m sure he’ll like the baby too.”
“Ha……. It’s better to avoid anything that’s even a little dangerous. Do you know how hard I worked to create this opportunity? Come on, let’s go. Get up. Take everything that could be of value.”
“What?! What are you talking about? Where are we going?”
“I think you’re possessed by the monster and out of your mind. Let’s get out of here for now. If you go out and think about it, you’ll find the answer.”
Jack grabbed Miela’s wrist and dragged her. Miela was dragged out of bed without even being able to resist. Her toes curled as she stood barefoot on the cold marble floor.
“Ah! Wait…….”
“We have to hurry. Even if it only takes a day, I wonder when the monster will come back…….”
Miela resisted as she was dragged barefoot on the cold floor, but Jack was unmoving. Miela grabbed Jack’s hands with both hands and held on with her entire body weight. However, she continued to be dragged with her buttocks thrust back.
The soles of her feet dragged on the bare floor were stinging and cold. The monster had never let her feet get cold. He had never dragged her so painfully. Jack was being forceful, saying that it was for her own good.
Because of Jack, she was surprised, she had to move against her will, and was being dragged painfully. Was this really an act of self-respect? No.
“Let go!”
Miela used all her strength to push Jack away. Jack let go of her hand and took a few steps back because it happened when he was not prepared. Miela fell over and rolled on the floor.
Her butt hurt. At the same time, she suddenly thought of the baby that might be in her stomach. She almost instinctively hugged her stomach and curled up.
Jack’s eyes sparked when he saw her like that.
“You don’t care that I worry about you so much? You worry about that monster bastard but don’t care about me?”
“What are you talking about…?”
Jack suddenly changed so much that she was scared. Miela hesitated and backed away.
Jack strode closer. The current Jack was scarier than the monster during their first meeting. The current Jack seemed like he would definitely hurt her.
“Jack, why are you doing this? No….”
“Don’t say no to me in front of me!”
Jack roared, his eyes widening. While Miela froze at the shout, Jack approached and grabbed her wrist again.
“No, I’m not going!”
Miela screamed again and pushed his hand away. She was desperate. But that only provoked Jack.
“I told you not to say no in front of me!”
Thud!
Jack, losing his mind, punched Miela in the head. Miela couldn’t even scream and fell down.
“Huk…… Huk. Huk.”
Jack stared blankly at Miela who had fallen and then looked down at his own hand. His fist, which had not yet been released, was trembling. His breathing became so ragged that his heart almost burst out of his throat.
“Uh, what should I do? What should I do…….”
Jack, who had been chewing his nails and sitting down for a moment, finally made up his mind and jumped up. The first priority was to escape the monster’s castle.
“…… Ah.”
Just before leaving the room, Jack stopped walking with a sudden idea.
He put Miela back on the floor and walked over to the desk. There was a piece of paper on which the monster had practiced his letters.
Jack laughed coldly as he looked at the crooked, messy letters.
No matter how hard he tried, a monster was still a monster. He couldn’t even write with a handwriting as refined as his own. How dare a monster covet a human woman.
As a monster, his obsession was terrifying. If Miela disappeared like this, he would definitely follow her to the village.
However, the funny thing was that the wild monster that was free-spirited was tamed by Miela. It was not hard to control an animal once you’ve tamed it.
Jack wrote a few letters with charcoal.
This would be the first thing that would catch the monster’s ankles.

“Miela?”
The monster felt nervous at the unfamiliar feeling. He threw the bag of mushrooms randomly in the hallway and quickly opened the door Miela had used.
“…….”
Miela was gone.
The monster, who could feel everything in the castle as if it were his own body, had already realized. That there was no living being in this castle other than himself. That he had returned to the still castle where nothing but himself was alive, just like before Miela came.
He could feel it with his whole body, but his mind could not accept it.
He had picked mushrooms to the point where the bag he had prepared was overflowing, but there was no way Miela was gone. She couldn’t be gone.
His chest pounded wildly.
For a moment, the monster could not understand his own body, so he pressed his chest with his palm. He thought this only happened when he saw Miela.
When Miela smiled brightly at him, when she scratched his shoulders and arms and blushed and chewed food that suited her taste, when she patted her filled belly and fell asleep soundly against his chest.
Most of the time when he was with Miela… his heart danced.
